Achieve Together (Sunday only) Achieve together Educational Day Service is a full-time, person-centred provision supporting adults who are deaf or multi-sensory loss with additional needs. Activities include art, craft, ceramics, woodwork, cards and more. Our products are often made by upcycling and recycling unwanted materials. Divya Atkins (Both days) The sweet and sour cooking apples growing in my garden in Widcombe, reminded me of mangoes in India. My mum and I were inspired to experiment with traditional Indian recipes, using these apples. We make salty pickles, sweet chutneys and jams as a family activity. In the autumn, we also preserve the windfallen apples, so nothing goes to waste. divya@kins.name |
Catherine Beale (Both days) Catherine paints watercolour portrait commissions and local landscapes for exhibition. She uses an unusual “gravity painting” method which she teaches in her Bath Watercolour Workshops and vouchers are available. (Both days) Yvonne’s handmade sculptural ceramics explore the beauty of the curve through the form of a bird, bringing a sense of tranquillity into your home. Individually finished, she uses ancient outdoor glazing methods to give unique effects such as raku and smoke-firing. She also makes her own glazes to fire in her electric kiln. Tim Perry (Both days) I make small batches of functional ceramics and one off pieces. Most start life on my potter's wheel and are then modified or decorated in some way. Agnes Pollock
(Both days) My main inspiration comes from light and the way a simple object holds and reflects light. There is a strong Japanese influence in my work and I love to paint Kintsugi bowls. Kintsugi is the art of repairing broken pottery with gold in the cracks, to highlight the beauty of imperfection. Besides original oil paintings of Kintsugi bowls, I will bring prints with gilded mounts and bespoke frames in Farrow and Ball colours.
