Divya Atkins

The sharp, yet sweet cooking apples growing in my garden in Widcombe, reminded me of the unripe mangoes I grew up with in India, so I was inspired to make traditional Indian preserves, using local, seasonal English fruit. Our pickles, chutneys and jams are made at home by the family, from our organically grown produce. In the autumn, most of the windfalls are also preserved, so they don't get wasted.

Bridget Baker  at Widcombe Social Club

Bridget Baker
My early training was as a zoologist but I only started making wire animals after retirement.  They are made from garden and household wire and then painted with enamel paints.  I make all vertebrate animals - fish, amphibia, reptiles, birds and mammals, based on photos.  The enjoyment of their creation comes from making them as realistic as possible and from capturing their features with the minimum of lines.   I am happy to make people's pets if they email me their snaps.

Tim Perry (Perryspace Arts)  at the Natural Theatre Company

I love making things from clay, the process of taking a wet lump of mud and turning it into a useful, beautiful pot. I fire my ceramics in a gas kiln that I built myself. The flame moves differently in each firing, so results are always a surprise and rarely repeatable. I am largely self-taught and still learning all the time, loving the process even when it goes wrong.

Vikki Yeates at Widcombe Social Club

I am an illustrator living and working in Bath, although I spent many years in Brighton, where I did a Degree in Illustration in the early 90s.
My artwork can be divided into 2 categories:  British Wildlife, particularly the hare; and dark, eerie illustrations
Most of my commercial work these days tends to be wildlife, but I still like to make them appear dark and atmospheric.  The hare is a constant source of inspiration for me, having so many meanings and stories from all over the world.
